A Summer aBroad is a collaborative process that aims to create public spaces where residents and visitors want to spend time and connect with the community. Taking place from June through August, the series promotes fun activities and discounts from local businesses. In addition, the NBR hosts three signature events that foster a sense of community and social connection. Remember to follow us on social media for fun events and discounts on North Broad!
The Goal: Help improve the quality of life along North Broad Street, create a stronger sense of belonging among our residents and stakeholders, and increase foot traffic that can lead to increased sales and revenue for North Broad businesses.
Summer aBroad AR Tour
The Summer aBroad Augmented Reality Tour is an interactive experience that broadcasts the vibrant developments and the storied history along the North Broad corridor. NBC 10’s Aunyea Lachelle, Host of Philly Live, is featured as the Augmented Reality Tour guide. Travel North Broad to each of the below locations, learn more, and enjoy North Broad – AR style!

A Sea aBroad Launch Party
There’s a new augmented reality experience on North Broad and it launches Friday, June 28th from 12 PM to 3 PM, on the front lawn of the Leon H. Sullivan Charitable Trust. VIPs , community stakeholders, and influencers will enjoy a beach-themed day with food, fun, and more as we enjoy A Sea aBroad.
Summer aBroad Block Party
In partnership with the businesses at the Avenue North Shopping Center, the Summer aBroad Block Party will provide an afternoon of our favorite “F” words – food, fun, and freebies! Now in its second year, the Summer aBroad Block party will take place Friday, July 19th, from 12 PM to 3 PM.
Summer aBroad Game Night!
The Summer aBroad Game Night will culminate in this summerlong series of placemaking. Held on August 29 from 5 PM to 7 PM, the NBR, Live Nation, and Wooder Ice will turn Broad and Poplar into a beer garden oasis with games, live music, interactive games, and more!
