2026 on North Broad
2026 is going to be a summer of economic growth for our city, and we want North Broad to be a part of the conversation. As a result, the North Broad Renaissance is working with partners and organizers so we can attract visitors to the corridor and make sure North Broad businesses and the community can benefit from Philadelphia’s booming hospitality and tourism market. That’s why we are so excited to announce Project 525!
This site activation project will transform the currently vacant lot at the vibrant intersection of Broad and Spring Garden Streets into a lively, multifunctional space that embodies the dynamic spirit of the North Broad community.. The aim is to establish this site as a marquee destination during the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, serving the community while attracting visitors to the North Broad corridor. Key features will include modular pods for hosting local vendors, distinctive and vibrant shading elements, and cooling strategies to enhance visitor comfort. The site can host FIFA viewing events, food trucks, and provide a platform for business incubation, boosting local economic activity. Colorful pathways and green spaces will engage youth, while an interactive augmented reality (AR) component of the onsite mural will offer a unique visitor experience. Planned to operate through 2026, this project will deliver year-round programming that keeps the space activated, fostering community and driving economic growth for the neighborhood. We’d like to thank Fifteen for their work on this and our continued partnership as we seek to make this a reality. Check back for updates and progress!
