A Summer aBroad is collaborative process that aims to create public spaces where residents and visitors want to spend time and connect with the community.
Taking place from June through August, the series promotes fun activities and discounts from North Broad businesses. In addition, the NBR hosts three signature events that foster a sense of community and social connection.
The Goal: Help improve the quality of life along North Broad Street, create a stronger sense of belonging among our residents and stakeholders, and increase foot traffic that can lead to increased sales and revenue for North Broad businesses.

Summer aBroad Block Party
In partnership with the businesses at the Avenue North Shopping Center, the Summer aBroad Block Party provides an afternoon of our favorite “F” words – food, fun, and freebies!
Summer aBroad Game Night
The Summer aBroad Game Night is a partnership with the NBR, Live Nation, and Wooder Ice, where we turn Broad and Poplar into a beer garden oasis with food, games, live music, live trivia game, and more!
The Beach on Broad
The Beach on Broad pop-up converts locations along North Broad into an urban beach that brings together community, fun programming and imagination. It shows us all what we are capable of when we #ThinkBroad.
Summer aBroad Augmented Reality Tour
This on-the-street augmented reality tour will take you through a journey of the history and future of key sites along North Broad Street, while learning about the North Poles. This tour also includes an interactive stop – the Sea aBroad – which transforms the lawn of the Leon H. Sullivan Trust into an under the sea adventure.
Summer aBroad Health Fair
This exciting event is designed to promote wellness and provide essential health resources for all ages. Enjoy a day filled with engaging activities, expert speakers, and interactive workshops focused on nutrition, fitness, mental health, and preventive care.
